Leader-in-Training (LIT)

What is an LIT?
A Leader-in-Training (LIT) works together with a Sr. Counselor to lead a group of campers throughout the day's activities. LITs assist in all aspects of Springbank Camp, learning how to lead games, activities, ministry time, and more. LITs help to create an epic summer camp experience for the campers while learning and developing their own leadership skills!

Who can be an LIT?
The LIT program is for youth going into grade 7 or 8 in fall 2023.

How do I become an LIT?

Sr. Counselor
​
What is a Sr. Counselor?
A Sr. Counselor works together with an LIT to create an amazing summer camp experience for campers. Sr. Counselors will lead a small group of campers throughout daily activities, as well as participate in ministry time, wide games, and more. Sr. Counselors will be responsible for the safety and well-being of their campers while ensuring to the best of their ability that everyone is having a great time!

Who can be a Sr. Counselor?
Sr. Counselors will be going into grade 9 up to grade 12 in fall 2023.

Do I receive compensation for my time?
Sr. Counselors are offered 40.5 Community Service hours per week.
​
Can I book work days off?
You are expected to be present for each full day of work that you are hired for. Due to the nature of camp, we will not be able to accommodate time off requests; however, exceptions will be made for emergencies, illness, etc.

Camp Coordinator
​
What is a Camp Coordinator?
A Camp Coordinator works closely with the Camp Director to plan and implement Springbank Camp 2023. As a Camp Coordinator, you will be fully immersed in the creation of this year's summer camp experience! You may also be called on to help with general church duties, including building maintenance and office administrative tasks.

Who can be a Camp Coordinator?
Camp Coordinators must be going into grade 11, 12, or enrolled in post-secondary school in fall 2023.

What is my work period?
Camp Coordinators will begin on July 4, 2023 and work until August 29, 2023. Generally, days will begin at 8:30AM and end at 4:30PM and include a one-hour lunch.

Do I receive compensation for my time?
Springbank Catholic Family of Parishes is waiting on grant approval from Canada Summer Jobs in order to pay Camp Coordinators for full-time hours. Camp Coordinators will be hired with the condition that Canada Summer Jobs funding is approved.

Administrative Assistant
What is an Administrative Assistant?
The Administrative Assistant will have responsibilities working in all areas of Springbank Catholic Family of Parishes, mainly at St. George Parish. One of their main tasks will be working under the supervision of the Camp Coordinators and Camp Director to develop and implement a three week summer camp.

Who can be an Administrative Assistant?
Administrative Assistants must be going into grade 11, 12, or enrolled in post-secondary school in fall 2023.
