Sacraments of Service
Holy Orders
Some people are called by God to serve their fellow members of the Body of Christ in ordained ministry as bishops, priests, and deacons. In their own distinct ways, they respond to this call to serve, and to help all of the baptized take up their mission as disciples. Some men pursue this vocation by preparing in the seminary and entering the priesthood, being ordained as deacons along the way. Others, who may be married with professional and family lives, become “permanent” deacons, who undertake ministries of service and outreach, as well as certain liturgical and sacramental functions.
Those interested in the priesthood or the permanent diaconate are invited to connect with our pastor, Fr. John Pirt at jpirt@dol.ca
Holy Matrimony
The sacrament of Marriage is a vocation of love, unity and self-sacrifice. This most wonderful sacrament is a powerful sign and symbol of the love God has for each of us. We treasure and value the gift of marriage and wish to celebrate it with great joy and faith.
Those couples seeking marriage at the parish are asked to contact the parish office at least one year prior to the marriage. This allows sufficient time for us to fill out the needed paperwork while taking the time to journey with couples preparing for their most special day.

Preparation includes meeting with the priest (or deacon) who will be presiding at the celebration in addition to a Marriage Preparation program, which takes place at the parish. Alternative arrangements may also be made in consultation with the presider.
