About Us
St. George CWL supports each other, the parish, and the community at large. We make donations to several local charities and raise funds through our Christmas Candy Cane Bazaar and Garage sale. Several community events are also held including a CWL Christmas Dinner, a Spring Luncheon, and a January Breakfast. We prepare food for funeral and sacramental celebrations. We communicate to our members through emails and a quarterly Newsletter. Click Here to read a Testimonial.

Established in 1920, the CWL is a national sisterhood of Catholic women who promote awareness and respond to political and social issues that affect all Canadians. We offer welcome and comfort to the vulnerable, the needy and the marginalized. We take an active role in the creation of resolutions that are presented to government annually on issues that impact families and communities at home and abroad. We are part of/join with the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations representing Catholic women and the church around the globe. The CWL outreach supports many initiatives in developing countries. With over 70,000 members in Canada, the League is officially recognized by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops as a lay association of women and is affiliated with the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations, a world-wide federation holding membership in the conference of International Catholic Organizations and having consultative status with agencies of the United Nations. Yearly conventions are held at the national, provincial, and diocesan level.
