Day of Service
March 25 | 9AM-6PM | St. John the Divine Parish
Springbank Catholic Family of Parishes Day of Service is an opportunity for young people in grades 7 - 12 to explore the church’s social teaching and to gain hands-on experience with some of our outreach ministries that strive to put Catholic social teaching into practice. High school students can also receive volunteer hours required for graduation through this experience.
Participants
Young people in grades 7-12 will have the opportunity to meet other youth, learn Catholic teachings about social justice and service, and gain hands-on experience with outreach groups at Springbank Catholic! High school students can gain volunteer hours to apply toward graduation requirements.
Maija Wilson:
Keynote Presenter
Maija graduated from King’s University College at Western University with an honours specialization in Social Justice and Peace Studies and a minor in Religious Studies. She is the proud mother of three little ones and naturally enjoys working with young people in her role as campus minister to youth.
Service Projects
Participants will serve in Springbank Catholic's Community Meal program and Nursing Home Ministry.

Community Meals occur each Thursday and provide a free meal to over 100 people each week.

Volunteers in the Nursing Home Ministry visit and build relationships with residents of not only nursing homes, but the homebound as well.
